20%-odd Electricity Fueled by Renewables in China

        (Xinhua News Agency) Beijing, Aug 23  - The National Energy Administration (NEA) today released the National Renewable Energy Power Development Monitoring and Evaluation Report for 2015. The report shows that by the end of 2015, the installed capacity of renewable energy in China reaches 480GW, generating more than 20% of the power. 
        The installed capacity of hydropower is 300GW, generating 1,098.5TWh of electricity, accounting for 19.6% of the total; the installed capacity of wind power is 129GW, generating 186.3TWh of electricity, accounting for 3.3% of the total; the installed capacity of photovoltaic power is 43.18GW, generating 39.2TWh of electricity, accounting for 0.7% of the total; the installed capacity of biomass generation is 10.31GW, generating 52.7TWh of electricity, accounting for 0.9% of total.

        The report also shows that last year, the national non-hydropower renewable energy power consumption accounted for 5% of the total.
