National Government Offices Administration: 50%-Plus Government Cars Powered by New Energy

        National Government Offices Administration pointed out in its plan for energy and resource conservation during the 13th Five Year Plan period on 5th May, 2016 that at least 50% of newly bought vehicles for government offices shall be powered by new energy. 
        It is introduced that during the 13th Five Year Plan period, central government offices will promote green commuting through encouraging the participation of social capital in building charging piles and providing related services. To encourage and promote the consumption and use of new energy vehicles, a new energy vehicle leasing project that provides self-service was launched on site.

        In the next five years, National Government Offices Administration will kick off another project called “Green Architecture Initiative” to improve the energy efficiency of buildings with the goal of 30% of national government office buildings reaching green building standard. At the same time, it will also continue to promote the application of compact and economical office areas in national government offices with the goal of transforming all offices into these types and water-saving offices. In addition, the development of green culture will be promoted through a series of activities including the Energy Conservation Week, National Low-carbon Day and China Water Week to raise people’s awareness and nurture an environment for ecological protection.

        National Government Offices Administration also emphasized that the recycling of kitchen waste will be further promoted this year with all national government offices equipped with the capability to do so onsite.
